Well, forget our rather timid civil laws that protect trade secrets and end up in a battle between the laws of privacy and the right to freedom of expression. The Independent reports that the familiar battle ground of revealing trade secrets has been taken to the nth degree by Coca-Cola which has successfully prosecuted a former secretary for conspiring to steal its samples of its new products and other confidential info and trying to sell them to its rival Pepsi. The secretary - the unfortunate Joya Williams - has been sentenced to a "whopping" 8 years in prison for her sins.
This is a salutary tale for those working for US companies over here that might even think about engaging in similar activity.
