As you may have read in the national press, TJX, the parent company of TK Maxx, has recently admitted that hackers have obtained details of the credit/debit card transactions of over 47 million of its customers (see a helpful Q&A from the BBC). Hackers got the information from TJX computers in the UK and USA.
The Information Commissioner's Office has confirmed to IMPACT that it is "in contact with TK Maxx in order to clarify the situation". A representative of the ICO told IMPACT:
"Clearly, the media coverage raises serious concerns and once we have received more information, we will of course be able to determine an appropriate response to these concerns."
