OpenRightsGroup: Biometric Data in Schools

Child_handprint The OpenRightsGroup is currently campaigning about the collection of biometric data on school children. They are asking us to write to our MPs to ask them to support an House of Parliament motion by Greg Mulholland MP.

If you've not heard of them, the OpenRightsGroup is about "protecting your rights in the digital age" and its stated aims are:

  • To raise awareness in the media of digital rights abuses
  • To provide a media clearinghouse, connecting journalists with experts and activists
  • To preserve and extend traditional civil liberties in the digital world
  • To collaborate with other digital rights and related organisations
  • To nurture a community of campaigning volunteers, from grassroots activists to technical and legal experts
