I've had a response today:
"Thanks for your email.
We are launching an email alerts service in a few weeks, which will allow you to be notified by email when a new addition is added to various sections of the ICO website, one of which will be Decision notices.
If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact me directly."
My reply, also sent back today was:
"It is RSS feeds that I'm particularly interested in. The reason is that like many others, I'm trying to track hundreds of news sources and the problem with only being able to get alerts by email is that my inbox clogs up with alerts.
The beauty of RSS feeds is that I can get many of these in my RSS reader, they don't clog up my inbox and I can blog items straight from the reader. For a body in the information business, you really need to be considering using this type of technology more in my view.I think RSS technology is going to be really important and seeing as the ICO already has some feeds the point I'm really asking is can you adjust the way they are published to make them more useful. If it sounds like I'm talking gibberish with all this RSS stuff then I would be delighted to come and see you and explain more about how these work and how people like me are using them. I'd also be delighted to give you links to more information about RSS and readers if that would help."
I'll keep the blog updated.
