Apparently Evil Knievel, the retired dare-devil motorcycle stunt man (anyone over 30 will remember the numerous stunts Evil completed, along with the numerous injuries he sustained in the process) has issued proceedings in Tampa Florida USA against a rapper called Kanye West for trade mark infringement.
Mr West starred in a video made for Touch for the Sky as “Evil Knievel” in which he appears "almost indistinguishable" from Evil Knievel. The video includes beach babe Pamela Anderson in what has been described as a "vulgar and offensive" video which "damages his reputation".
Although one of the first celebrities to see the value of branding merchandise with his image, Mr Knievel has been no stranger to controversy. His name has been banded in stories of adultory and bankruptcy and he spent some time at the pleasure of the US government having pleaded guilty to battery following a very unsavoury incident. Just how the video could damage his reputation is unclear, we shall watch the case with interest!
