EU Data Protection and Policing - Concerns growing

Interesting article in The Register yesterday about the handling of personal data in the context of cross-border policing.

The European Data Protection Supervisor is taking the position that data subjects need particular safeguards in this trickiest of areas, but certain member states do not welcome what they see as unwarranted (no pun intended) interference in their internal affairs.

Guess where the UK stands on this.
